:bulletred: You may submit 4 works per day.

:bulletred: All artwork must follow DeviantArt's rules.

:bulletred: All submissions go into the "Submissions Bucket" folder. Admins will move the artwork to the appropriate category folder.

:bulletred: Unfinished works (sketches, roughs, partial bodies, drawings on lined paper, WIPs etc.) are generally acceptable. Badly cropped, out-of-focus, or otherwise difficult-to-decipher photographs will be declined.

:bulletred: ABSOLUTELY NO movie screengrabs or game screenshots, no DVD or game cover art that you scanned, no scans of pictures from the Creature Effects books, no photocollages of the movie posters - any and all of these will be declined.

:bulletred: No GMOD pictures. This is close enough to a game screen capture to fall into the same category. GMODs will be declined.

:bulletred: Work submitted from your own gallery MUST BE your original artwork, a photograph of your artwork, or a photomanipulation that does not violate the above rule. For example, don't submit a collage of panels from comic book pages, scans of box art from games, collages of images from the movies or websites, etc.

:bulletred: ART, guys, ART ART ART. And stories. Not movie props.

:bulletred:Photos are okay if they are a picture of someone in an Alien, Predator, or Colonial Marine costume. Photos of sculptures that YOU sculpted or painted are okay.

:bulletred:Don't submit somebody else's artwork from your own gallery. They can make a DevianArt account, join the group, and get the recognition they deserve.

:bulletred:Photos of action figures will be rejected UNLESS the photo is of a complete repaint of a boxed figure. Admins will decide these on a case-by-case basis.

:bulletred:Photos of painted model kits are okay as long as the painting/accessorizing is your own work.

:star:To submit a piece that's already on dA, just click the '+' sign button and select "Contribute an Existing Deviation" to add artwork that you already have posted on deviantART. (If you don't see your work in the window, just type it's title into the box in upper right corner.)

:bulletred:any questions and propositions about the club direct to admins, Herisheft and rachaelm5.

:bulletred:Respect your Hive/Tribe members! No stabbing/Biting!

:bulletred:Never Steal anything and claim it for your own!

:bulletred:Even though you're waging war, please be kind to each other! Keep the group rivalry in a friendly tone!

Violate this, and get ripped to pieces. The rules are simple. Follow them or :fork:

I've made some changes to the groups submission folders, and they now work like most groups out there. We don't have a 'submission folder' anymore, that means you have to choose yourself a folder to which you are sending your work, where it will be accepted or not depending on our  folder rules. Usually i am informing when person is placing something into the wrong folder and ask to resubmit to the right one,. That's the only chnage you will recieve, everything else stays as it was.

Here i will also put my personal gratitude to rachaelm5's work for this group, which was more than wonderfull and it really made it alive for all those years  Thank you! I wish i could be more active though, but life's a bitch and has priorities for me, for you and everybody else.

Thought that i might also share with few things with our little disfunctional family. We are one of the oldest Alien and Predator related groups on DeviantArt, if not the oldest which managed to survive the passage of time. Some of us might still remember it when it was just a common user account, without 'group system' attached simply becouse something like that was not existing yet. It was really hard to manage, as we had to put every submission by ourselves and it was alot of it every day, but in the end we are still here and it makes me more than happy. I didn't even expect for this group to be alive and survive for that long. So hurray!

I also thought, that since it's been more than 10 years already, I could share a little bit of ancient history and also answer the question: Why this group has 'alternative' in it's name?
So... It was back in  2004 when I had the idea of esstablishing a group dedicated to two beloved species, right before the film premiere when nobody was expecting an incomming blockbuster disaster. I might also mention that groups were a relatively fresh idea at that time and there were not many of them. Before that, AvP was mostly associated with comicbook series and game series, and that was the base of my reasoning... and that's how the group was founded and it was called AvPLeague. It was a normal user account to which I and my friend s0fus-snk had to login each time, gather people's notes, download their works and submit them by ourselfs, and it was alot of work as you can imagine. Very soon we had a decent amount of members (for those times), and it was really difficult and annoying to send their sumbimissions every day. So, we camed out with a solution, that members with submissions over 3 will recieve an acces to this account, so they can send works by themselves. There were a few people and it worked just fine, untill somebody thought it would be a great a idea or a joke, to change the password and not tell anybody about it. We thought that somebody has made a mistake and asked people if they did anything, and nobody confessed to anything. Everybody got angry with it, and in that case we decided to make a new group called AvP-alternative, which was suppose to be an ALTERNATIVE to AvPLeague. Unfortunetlly the jokester followed us and we made a mistake to give access to privaleged people from previous group, and as to be expected, password was changed almost instantly. Many swear words followed, but we learned our lesson and returned to previous rules, only asking people to send one work a day with the third version of the group which was the avpalternative. It was hard, annoying and tough with growing number of members, and we almost disabled it, BUT... DA finally got the idea about groups and camed with a 'group system' solution, and from that time we keep on working and growing. THE END.

Shed a tear for AvPLeague.

rachaelm5 is stepping down as Co-Founder of AvPAlternative.  The group folders will be opened to automatically accept incoming artwork until such time as the group founder, Herisheft, locates another person to take Rachael's place.

General guidelines are, as always, located in the Rules panel on the group's front page.  Please take the time to read through them.

Guidelines for the folders:

Featured:  Reserved for the Founder's favorite pieces.

Homage to HR Giger:  HR Giger died, so this folder is for any piece that is in honor of his life, art, and passing.  Please keep DA's rules in mind with regard to Mature Audiences material.

Alien Hive:  All artwork featuring Xenomorphs, and only Xenomorphs.

Predators Mothership:  All artwork featuring Predators/Yautja, and only Predators/Yautja.

Predaliens:  All artwork featuring Alien/Predator hybrids.

AvP:  All artwork featuring Aliens and Predators in the same picture.  They could be fighting, partying, or anything else.  If both species are present in the picture, it goes in here.

Prometheus:  All artwork featuring characters and creatures from the Prometheus movie (and any of its sequels).

Encyclopedia:  All character reference sheets, weapon, armor, helmet, and ship designs, and other descriptive materials go here.

Fun, Jokes, and Weird Crossovers:  Predator vs. anything else, Aliens vs. anything else, funny things, odd things, and general "WTF?!" goes in this folder.

Stories:  Comic pages, short stories, novels, screenplays, poetry, and other such things go in this folder.

Cosplay:  Photography of humans in Alien, Predator, Prometheus, and similarly-themed costumes go in here.

Occasional Marines:  Pictures featuring the human characters from the Aliens and Predator universe go here.  These pictures do not have to have Aliens or Predators in them, but do need to have a clear relationship to the Colonial Marines from this universe.

Unfinished Work, Roughs, Sketches:  Any works in progress, sketches, doodles, mock-ups, etc. goes in this folder.

Good luck!

From our friends at :icona-predator-fanverse:

A cargo ship carrying some Xeno eggs got caught in an asteroid field, took damage and had to crash land on the nearest moon. Because of the damage most of the eggs the ship was carrying were lost and spread around. We need to find 35 eggs before they hatch on October 31st!

:bulletgreen: All of the eggs will be hidden within the groups below as links. Each egg is labeled with a number and you must collect all the links!(we need to hide the eggs so don't worry if you can't find them all today or this weekend)

:bulletgreen: To let us know you found the eggs please send a note to A-Predator-Fanverse with all of the links you found. Do not share link locations with others!

:star:All eggs must be found by October 31st!:star: Find the hidden links in these groups!

here a little thing that recently i have bought out and there something aliens related in a way, if anyone didn't know.

In the early 80's, there was this Japanese marionette show that was basically their version of Thunderbirds and Star Wars melded into one, so you could expect lots of big ropots and in-camera explosions like the godzilla films. it's called X bomber, known in the english dub as Starfleet. Brian May of Queen, a fan of the series, even a did a single of it, which is how i found out about it.

But anyway, some of the Aliens actors actually lent their voices to it. one of the main protaganists, pilot Shiro Hagen is voiced by Jay Benedict who played as Newt's father in the extended cut. Another is Pilot John Lee, the more timid member of the crew is played by Mark Rolsten who plays Drake (Which is ironic considering the role he's known for). The last is Al Matthews, SGT Apone, who plays the dual role of Professor Hagen (Shiro's Father or Uncle, it's never clarified) and the villain Caliban (Who appears late into the series). but unfortunately, due to the first episode's credits being reused every episode, Matthews isn't credited.

This is the Brian May music video from which i first learned of Starfleet and maybe it'' spark your interest.…
