SUBMISSIONS You may submit 4 works per day. All artwork must follow DeviantArt's rules. All submissions go into the "Submissions Bucket" folder. Admins will move the artwork to the appropriate category folder. Unfinished works (sketches, roughs, partial bodies, drawings on lined paper, WIPs etc.) are generally acceptable. Badly cropped, out-of-focus, or otherwise difficult-to-decipher photographs will be declined. ABSOLUTELY NO movie screengrabs or game screenshots, no DVD or game cover art that you scanned, no scans of pictures from the Creature Effects books, no photocollages of the movie posters - any and all of these will be declined. No GMOD pictures. This is close enough to a game screen capture to fall into the same category. GMODs will be declined. Work submitted from your own gallery MUST BE your original artwork, a photograph of your artwork, or a photomanipulation that does not violate the above rule. For example, don't submit a collage of panels from comic book pages, scans of box art from games, collages of images from the movies or websites, etc. ART, guys, ART ART ART. And stories. Not movie props.Photos are okay if they are a picture of someone in an Alien, Predator, or Colonial Marine costume. Photos of sculptures that YOU sculpted or painted are okay. Don't submit somebody else's artwork from your own gallery. They can make a DevianArt account, join the group, and get the recognition they deserve.Photos of action figures will be rejected UNLESS the photo is of a complete repaint of a boxed figure. Admins will decide these on a case-by-case basis.Photos of painted model kits are okay as long as the painting/accessorizing is your own work. What the judges will be looking for:
Originality Creativity Effort Character must be original and specifically made for this contest Any medium is allowed including literature We want more than just a sketch! Two months have been given for this contest; this contest is about developing an original Yautja female with a background, a real history. Her entire design should help tell her story of what her culture is like, what she is like, and where she has come from. You may expand beyond just a simple character design, create a story, a family tree, the more you put into it the better! There will be categories: Digital Traditional- black and white, paintings, water colors, colored pencil, markers, etc. Literature- 10,000 words or less Sculpture- montage sketches with photos of the final product Collaboration-lines/coloring, design/sculpting, role playing, ect. Other- please ask if you wish to make something in an different category Judges may not participate No photo manipulations No screen shots

Modified game screenshots are still game screenshots, and will be declined if they are submitted to this group. I realize that we did not have a distinction in the rules posted on the front page, because I know that some people consider them separately from unmodified screenshots. That oversight has been corrected.
